History of 1945 KIII1945 KIII (also often referred to as "1945 K3") is a vertically scrolling 'shoot them up' coin-op arcade game, developed and published by Korean company called Oriental Software in the year 2000. The game allows the player to control a jet fighter that is forced to face countless enemies who try to shoot it down with all possible weapons and missiles. Luckily, the player can also shoot projectiles and does not need to rely solely on avoiding the opponents. When destroyed, some of the enemies drop power-ups which upgrade the player's weapons. The player also has a special attack which summons a large bomber on the screen and protects the player from all damage. The gameplay is reminiscent of several scrolling shooter arcade video games of the 80s. It follows the general pattern of the genre, fulfilling all expectations that the player might have about the game – boss fights, hordes of enemies, good music and sound effects, appealing graphics and visuals, and fluent action-packed gameplay. However, 1945 KIII is said to be a complete ripoff of a 'Strikers 1945 III', a game by Psikyo. It is also known to have a line in the End credits that shows '(c) 1999 Promat' and leaves some open questions about the game being original. It was received well among the players and can currently be found online, as well as in ported versions.
