History of Steel Force
Steel Force is a Spanish arcade shoot-'em-up game, developed and released by Electronic Devices in 1994.
The goal in the game is to reach the exit of a maze-like stage. There are hordes of enemies in the way, which keep appearing from all sides, including the areas that the player has already passed. Each killed enemy drops a coin, which, when a certain amount of them is gathered it upgrades the weapon of the player.
Many ammunition stacks are lying around in the level to make sure that the player doesn't run out of ammo, and the way to the exit is marked with red arrows and exit signs. At the end of each stage, a boss fight occurs.
The game has a futuristic setting and a high difficulty level. Some enemies are much faster than the player both in movement and in shooting speed. Steel Force is also almost a direct copy of the famous Commodore Amiga shoot-'em-up game called Alien Breed.
Steel Force has received some high-scoring reviews, despite the repetitive music, which consists mostly of short-themed low-quality digitized loops; the stolen graphical and game play elements; and the sometimes unfair difficulty level. It is considered a good game among many players for its solid action-packed game play.
